busy month

27 apr 2024

who knew that these last few weeks were going to be so crazy?? i guess i did, but i wasn't expecting it to this extent. the warm weather has slowly been returning and all the plants are coming back with a vengeance, especially the grass. mowing is back in full swing now so i've been pretty preoccupied with that + my greenhouse work. we were able to sell a lot of plants at a local plant sale this month, but we still ahve so many that need taking care of and not a lot of time to do it. so yeah, work and school have been taking up a large amount of my time... but the semester is coming to a close, so i'll be able to focus a little more on other things. hopefully this week i'll actually have a little bit of time off, i want to get back into being creative and re-learning how to create outside of my classes.

it's just difficult trying to figure out where i'm at creatively and what i want to make. it feels like i have to question everything i do, trying to figure out what direction i want to take with my works... i think this week i'll probably sit down and revamp the site a little bit, i've been getting really inspired doing some deep dives into forgotten websites and also feeling inspired by fabric patterns of all things. if time permits, i'll go in and adjust some stuff over this next week =] we'll see- no promises as always.

well, i have some big things coming up this week... with all of this stuff happening with my hip injury and STILL struggling to get it looked at i've been really frustrated. never got a call to schedule any other imaging like they said they would, so i'm going to have to go all the way back to square one. it just sucks being referred to like 3 different places and having the communication between these places get dropped. it's been a year and i still haven't figured any of it out. i can't feel too upset though, because within that year i was able to find somewhat successful treatment with steroid injections... i still can't do as much as i would like to and i have to take it really easy at work/at the gym, but day to day i'm not in the amount of pain that i had been in before. it's still stiff, but it's more manageable as long as i don't push too hard with it. labral tears are no joke yall...

nothing new has really been happening, sorry if this is kind of an underwhelming entry! i did start going back to the gym last week but that's not super interesting i guess haha... not that these have ever been super interesting but you know what i mean =] i'm just waiting for some stuff to happen and to hopefully get some good news after they do. i'll keep you all posted either way. hope you're enjoying spring =]

avril 14th

14 apr 2024

hi everyone :) it's a warm, sunny day today and i'm living for it. everywhere you look there's a little bit more green to see, the trees are starting to wake up again and all the plants are slowly beginning to sprout. today i planned on taking a little drive and going out to the river to look for some hagstones, but instead i'm working on school stuff. i figured the sooner i get it wrapped up, the sooner i can be done with everything and not have to worry about any of it. i meant to get the brunt of it done yesterday, but we ended up going out with some friends instead =] so today i'll get everything together and maybe go to the river sometime this week if the weather holds out.

well, just wanted to poke my head in and say hi since it's been a minute. i just haven't really been feeling the urge to write here with how busy i've been, but once the semester is over and things calm down a little bit more i'll be back in my regular posting habit. also, it's aphex twin day so i had to come by and say happy april 14th!

spring in the south

06 apr 2024

hello all =] it's been a pretty busy week for me. i've been working on a lot of school work and trying to get caught up as well as get a head start on my finals... so much to do and so little time. next semester it'll be nice not to have all entirely art classes, there's something More overwhelming when all of your finals are just art projects. for the first time in my life i wish i had an essay or something to write lol. it's definitely springtime, we were up in the 80s last week just to be right back down to freezing temps the last few days. that's just how spring is in the south though i guess. we had such a warm, beautiful sunny day and slater and i went down to the garden supply store to get some ideas for our porch garden. we ended up coming home with some spinach starts and a strawberry plant just for it to instantly freeze that night. the plants are doing fine, we got them repotted now that things are warming back up so we'll see how they'll do. it'll be nice to have fresh spinach to eat (if it grows and survives haha)

haven't really been writing as much because i want to tweak my site and add some pages, mostly wanting to focus on making the gallery more robust and easier to navigate. want to fix up my shrine pages (after all this time) and get every page that is still sitting there as a WIP up to date and functioning... blahhhh. i just haven't been feeling very HTML-inspired lately. to be honest, my art inspiration is starting to come back little by little but there's some weird anxiety around drawing/creating that's kind of holding me back. this term i've really just kind of quit making personal art and only focused on making art for my assignments and i feel like it's kind of been a nice reset to help me get back in the swing of things. just focusing on honing in technique and learning what i'm not interested in working on has been a big help in re-discovering what i Am passionate about.

and a brief health update: i went in for my second appointment where once again i was under the impression they would do the arthroscopy, but no dice. instead, they want to do another MRI but this time with contrast. tbh, i really hope they just send me back to my normal doctor's office to do this appointment, this sports medicine clinic is really... idk... i had to get x-rays taken last appointment and when i went back to the exam room i heard one of the techs say something about how my legs look. like wtf?? idk, it would've been a little funny if it weren't for the fact that i'm at a doctors appointment. the entire thing just made me really uncomfortable and the only reason why i got referred to this clinic is because they don't have the right facilities to do an arthroscopy... so if all i need is just a contrast MRI, i'd much rather be done wtih this clinic, especially after that happened. there's just been something weird going on with people lately, i don't keep up with astrology shit lately but if any of you astrology girlies know what the hell is going on... lemme know.....

can't wait to get all of this stuff for class finished up- i have the guidelines for 2 out of my 3 finals laid out for me, so i'm gonna just get them done early so i don't have to worry about anything. i really REALLY want to get out with my camera and take pictures! i've just been so exhausted from work and everything else, but the second i get a chance i plan on taking it out and getting as many shots as i can. but i gotta get everything else out of the way first!

well, that's all i've really got for you for now! i'll be a little sparse on here as i mentioned before as i'm occupied with work + school, but once i get some site updates rolled out i'll be back to regular posting =] see ya!

slowly but surely everything is turning green
